Dual Core Processor

Posted by 9 April, 2009 (0) Comment

Dual core processor is two separate cores in CPU with same die with its own cache. The main advantages of dual core processor are they do not need ant new separate mother board; it can be used in existing motherboard even. In a dual core processor each core handles incoming data strings simultaneously to improve efficiency. In a dual core processor is an integrated circuit which contains two complete computer processors. In dual core processor have many advantages like, it provides two complete execution cores instead of one each with independent interface.

The operating system will have sufficient resources to handle intensive tasks in parallel which improves multi tasking. It is used to reduce cost and use less power. We can enjoy the performance and flexibility to handle with multimedia enabling technologies. To use dual core processor, the operating system should have multi-threading technology. And also simultaneous multi-threading technology (SMT) is used with multi-processor systems for using dual core processor.

It is do not present any risk except this range. “For patients with pacemakers, exposure to the headsets can force the device to provide signals to the heart beat without concern to the patient’s underlying heart rhythm, “said Dr William H Maisel , senior inventor of the study and director of the medical Equipment Safety Institute at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Pacemakers and defibrillators could be affected, warn heart experts, “Exposure of a defibrillator to the headsets can be temporarily destroyed the defibrillator”. Robot controlled by a living brain

Posted by 12 January, 2009 (0) Comment

A tiny robot controlled by a living brain is a recently efforts in researcher forcing the boundaries of Neuro science by marrying living brain distinct type with machines. Gordon’s sensor has through repetition and feedback, managing to avoid obstacles as it around a room and this sensor send information’s by way of computer interface to its biological brain. Gordon’s brain consist of fetal rate neurons oxygenated saline in an array of 60 electrodes used to pick up electrical signals make by the neurons. This connections having within 20 minutes and establish an elaborate active network within a week. After two (or) three weeks the whole network is stable and then the cell allowed growth of 50,000 to 150,000 cells. To test Gordon’s behavioral; the researcher group uses ‘the wall avoidance task’, in use ultrasonic sensors on the front, left, right and back of the Gordon’s body. Its transmitted spatial information’s to the computer by pinging objects each 250 milliseconds in a room. Gordon mores around a small play pen with 15cm-high walls up to the sonar waves send to a computer register. This complicated point electrical stimulation is given to its biological tissue. In conditions of the experiment give the researcher group the ability to edge a bit closer to understanding and why neurons form connections. This knowledge give directly into work on medical devices such as cochlear implants that can restore partially unable to hear and deep-brain enthusiastic to quiet the tremors of patients with Parkinson’s disease.
